QD Enamels

QD Enamel Paint is an economical fast drying or quick drying alkyd resin based topcoat. QD Enamel is a cost effective high gloss coating suitable for interior and exterior use, it is an  industrial application recommended metalwork & steelwork where good resistance to petrol, paraffin and mineral oil spillages is required. It is also suitable for wooden surfaces where a glossy finish is required, for example garden furniture, shelving and wooden boxes or crates.

It is recommended for QD Enamel to be applied by spray application but dipping is also possible. Surface preparation is very important, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned, must be dry and in manageable condition before commencing application. The best primer before the topcoats is a coat of Shafaa Oxibond Etch Primer, then  after drying apply two coats of Shafaa QD Industrial Enamel. Please ensure 4-5 hours drying time between coats.

The mixing ratio on QD Enamels application viscosity is either:                                              70% QD Enamel and 30% QD thinners         and/ or                                                        50% QD Enamel and 50% lacquer Thinners.
